Health Care Reform Information
Preventive Care services offered at no cost to Participants in "Non-Grandfathered Health Plans"
Beginning with plan year renewals on and after October 1, 2010 (January 1, 2011, for calendar year plans), Non-Grandfathered Plans will cover specified preventative care services without cost to participants (deductibles, copayments or coinsurance), when provided in network (PPO). Preventive care includes, among others, recommended immunizations, preventive care for infants, children, and adolescents, and additional preventive care and screenings for women. Plans will notify their participants if this provision applies to them.
 
The preventive services that currently fall under this requirement are available for review at the Federal Website: HealthCare.gov.

Secure Web services for Participants

It’s easy to access information about your benefits in the privacy and convenience of your own home. It’s one of the ways ABPA is working to improve the lives of workers, retirees, and their families.

Check us out at www.abpa.com. You will be able to register and then login with the user ID and password you select. Your participant website will also provide helpful links to the website for your Fund and other service vendors for benefits not administered by ABPA.
The participant website can answer many questions so you don’t have to wait to call Customer Service during business hours. Depending on the services your Trust provides, the information is available to you when you want to access it, at your convenience.

Examples of what is available for participants include:
  • Claims information – if ABPA processes your medical claims, otherwise a link to the vendor that does process your claims.
    • Wondering if your doctor has gotten paid yet, you can find out here. 
  • Eligibility status. You can check on the eligibility status for yourself and your dependents
  • Work history and credit hours earned.
  • Vacation account balances.
  • Premium self-pay is made more convenient through secure electronic check or credit card.
  • You can download forms and review important documents make available by your Trustees.
  • Pension information is also there for your review including, employer contributions, benefit units, service credits. Some Trust Funds even provide their participants with ABPA’s automated Pension Calculator that allows you to plan for your future retirement.
